Denver steel buildings engineered for the Front Range.
Metal building kits, delivered shells and turnkey projects across the Denver metro — designed to Front Range snow and wind, drawn for Colorado plan review, and priced before you commit.
What Denver-area buildings have to handle
LOADS & CODEAbout 30 psf ground snow across the metro, rising fast toward the foothills. Drift loading against lean-tos and taller walls usually controls the frame.
140 mph gusts on Front Range downslope events, Exposure C on most open parcels — the reason anchor bolts and base plates get sized up here.
Expansive clay is common along the I-25 corridor. Budget a soils report before you finalize the foundation design, not after.
What Denver clients build
USE CASESContractor and trade shops
40×60 to 60×120 shops with 16–20' eaves, bypass or roll-up doors, and a mezzanine allowance for office space off I-70 and E-470.
Commercial flex and warehouse
Clear-span shells for light manufacturing and distribution in Commerce City, Aurora and Henderson, engineered for dock or grade-level loading.
RV, boat and equipment storage
Tall-eave storage in Parker, Castle Rock and Brighton where HOA and county setback rules drive layout as much as size.
Agricultural and equestrian
Riding arenas and hay storage in Weld, Elbert and Douglas counties designed for drifted-snow cases, not just flat ground snow.

Denver steel building questions
FAQHow much does a steel building cost in Denver?
Kit-only pricing in the Denver metro generally runs $19–$32 per square foot once Front Range snow and wind loads are engineered in. Delivered and erected, most 40×60 and 50×80 shells land between $28 and $48 per square foot. A slab adds roughly $8–$10 per square foot on Front Range soils, and expansive-clay lots can push that higher after a soils report.
Do I need a permit for a metal building in Denver County?
Yes. Denver Community Planning and Development requires a building permit and stamped structural drawings for nearly every permanent steel structure, plus a drainage plan on most commercial shells. Adams, Arapahoe, Jefferson, Douglas and Weld counties each run their own review with different setback and fire-access rules. We supply the sealed Colorado drawings and the submittal package your reviewer asks for.
What snow and wind loads do Denver-area buildings need?
Most of the Denver metro designs to roughly 30 psf ground snow and 140 mph gust wind (Risk Category II, Exposure C on open parcels). Foothills parcels in Jefferson and Boulder counties climb quickly with elevation, and drift loading against lean-tos and taller adjacent walls is often the controlling case. Your final numbers come from the local jurisdiction, not a state average.
How long does delivery take to the Front Range?
Denver-area freight is fast — usually 2–5 days in transit once the building ships. Plan 3–5 weeks for sealed drawings after order and 6–12 weeks for fabrication depending on mill schedules. Winter erection on the Front Range is routine; wind days, not cold, are what move a crane schedule.
Do you erect the building or just deliver the kit in Colorado?
Both. Take a materials-only kit and use your own crew, or we coordinate an insured, OSHA-trained erection crew and hand you a finished shell. Many Denver clients pour their own slab and have us erect the frame and sheeting.
